Magnify Networks leases a set of servers at Internet colo facilities, on which it operates its proprietary web application and databases.

Managed Hosting Provider

We have selected Gossamer as our initial hosting provider because they provide a full set of management and support services, they have solid experience with the specific web application technologies we are relying on, and because they can provide managed cluster hosting with server redundancy and load balancing. Gossamer provides Magnify.net with dedicated server equipment, monitoring and administration services, network bandwidth and colocation space.

Gossamer installs, optimizes, and updates all operating system and server software. Each server is monitored around the clock, and the Gossamer network operations staff have consistently responded quickly to server issues which could impact the quality of service.

Data Center Facility

Gossamer's servers are located in a locked equipment cage inside a data center facility operated by Group Telecom, a division of Bell Canada.

• Bandwidth: With five different upstream providers, multiple OC3/OC12 connections, and a redundant Cisco-powered network, the data center ensures that traffic uses the best possible path and maintains connectivity should any of the providers' backbones fail.
• Support: The data centre is manned 24 hours a day to deal with emergencies or for hands-on server management.
• Security: Access into the data center is strictly limited, with both a passcard and a passcode required to enter.
• Cooling: Massive air-conditioners manage the environment in the data center, keeping the machines cool and optimizing performance.
• Power: Racks of batteries allow the entire data center to be powered instantly incase of power failure. Diesel generators take over should the battery power get drained
