Home Page Layout Tool FAQ

Q: “How can I change the look of my channel's home page?”

A: The home page can be changed in a number of ways through the use of customizable modules, which can be found in the Home Page section of the Design tab of the admin navigation panel.

On the left hand side of the page, you'll see a test page with the modules every page starts with clearly defined.

On the right is a list of the module categories: Grid, List, Peer Filter, text, Tools, Users, Blog/Forum, Network, RSS and Ads.

If you click the link for a category, a box with all the different kinds of modules for that category will pop up.To put a module on your page, click and drag the desired one into its place on the test page.

Q: “I dragged a module into place, but when I released the mouse, the module removed itself. What's going on?”

A: Some modules can only go on the main body of the page, and others on the sidebar. If your module disappears, try adding it to another area. If it refuses completely, you may have run out of room on the page.

Q: “I placed a number of modules on the page, but now I'd like to change their order. Do I have to remove and re-add them?”

A: Just drag and drop the modules on the test page to change their order.

Q: “How can I remove a module?”

A: After selecting the module on the test page, click the Remove the Module link on the right.

Q: “How can I edit a module?”

A: When you first place a module on the home page, a list of possible changes will pop up, but if you want to make more changes after the module is in place, just click the module and the change option will reappear.

Q: “Can I make more changes than the drop down menus allow?”

A: Some modules have areas for text which you can use to embed arbitrary HTML, including graphics, various widgets, etc.
