Comments and Ratings
Providing visitors with opportunities to comment and rate provides a sense of participation and can support long-term engagement.
Furthermore, by sharing feedback with other users a self-perpetuating cycle is formed, in which people begin having conversations not just about a single video, but around the entire topic and throughout the emerging community.
A moderation system allows you to either pre-approve each comment as it arrives, or let them be posted immediately and simply remove the ones you don't want after the fact.
Profiles and Social Networking
Magnify includes a user account registration system and a full suite of social networking tools.
Users can publish information about themselves to other members of the community, and if the channel administrator has enabled it, they can form friendships with other users and explore the interconnections between other community members.
User Video Submissions
If you choose to allow it, visitors are also offered the opportunity to submit content for review and approval by your webmaster.
User video submissions can arrive via file upload, through a live webcam recording, as an email attachment from their computer, mobile phone, or other device.
Users can also paste in embed codes that they have discovered online that seem relevant to your channel's topic.
And of course, you can enable a pre-approval queue, so that all of these video submissions are held securely for your review before they are shared with channel visitors.
Single Sign On
Magnify currently offers an SSO mechanism that allows visitors to a video channel to be authenticated against a customer's primary web site. This allows for a consistent and seamless user experience across your existing website, and your Magnify hosted video channel. This SSO API enables implementation of single-sign-on using your existing user database and cookies, by providing us with the URL of a script that we can call to validate session cookies.
This API enables Magnify's servers to check with your server to confirm whether a visitor has already authenticated themselves, and provides a way to request authentication or registration against your database when users need to be identified.
A Magnify channel can also be configured to act as a single-sign-on server to authenticate users to other parts of your web presence.
