More April Bonus Features!

April 16, 2007 - Steve Rosenbaum
Hey, spring is in the air, and we're feeling frisky. So we're going to jump the gun and pop a bunch more features that are ready to roll.

First - for all the videobloggers out there that have been looking for a way to include their blogposts, text, and a video upload (and search) solution. It's here! We've added a new template, and features for VideoBloggers (or text bloggers that want to add video). Check it out - http://www.support.magnify.net/ In order to use this feature you need to enable the community messaging feature, and chose the blog option. Easy and cool. Play with it - it's fun.

Secondly, we've improved the "My Playlists" interface, and simplified the process of adding videos to a playlist. Each video thumbnail now features a little "+" icon that lets you quickly add it to one of your playlists or create a new one. And once you've built your playlists, we've made it easier to update them or drag-and-drop the videos into your preferred order.

And - for all of you looking for ways to automate and speed up the creation and management of playlists - we've added a feature that allows you to create auto searches just within specific parameters on YouTube and Revver. You can search videos just from a single user account, or sear YouTube Favorites, or You Tube Most Recent Posts. (the protocol is "User: XYZ") This allows you to essentially subscribe to YouTube members, and be assured that within specific playlists your just getting the videos they've published.

For Revver users - The Revver search also supports "title: x" (only show me videos with "x" in the title) and "tag: x" (only show me items that have been tagged as "x"). Also, with Revver (unlike YouTube) you can combine multiple kinds of searches: [ tag: funny title: pope ] results in religious humor videos.

[dogs user: askaninja] results in just the Ask A Ninja videos that mention dogs. Oh, and the Revver vids now autoplay (thank you Revver!).

Finally – for those of you with CSS envy, we’ve added a cool feature that allows you to swap the tools and content areas on the home page from right to left. (The sidebar left/right option is located in Admin > Design > Global Style > Content Style and Colors, right next to the "boxes versus round corners" choice.)

Ok - so, play. Enjoy. And, as always, feedback welcome and appreciated!
