Magnify.net Blog

Mashable, CenterNetworks, Profy, and more....

November 18, 2007 - Steve Rosenbaum
On Thurday Magnify.net announced that it was releasing into private beta our 'Vlog In a Box" webcam recorder, and that we'd invited Chris Brogan to join and help us manage the beta.

We had hoped for some enthusiastic feedback -- but frankly, we were kind of blown away. Some of the bloggers we read and respect the most jumped in with reviews, thoughtful commentary, and a sense of where both we and the space are going. Among the things that jumped out at us:
Center Networks said: "Magnify.net Does for Video Blogging What Wordpress Did for Word Blogging"

Masable said: "Continued evolution of Magnify as a service...What you’ve got is an integrated, multi-faceted network (that you’ve created) that operates around the aggregation and personal creation of video content."

Springwise said: "it's time for verticalization. Right on cue, Magnify has launched a service that helps web publishers bring subject-specific video channels to their own websites."

"The next stage of the video era: general sites have had their day—now it's time for the niche, vertical contenders to take hold"

Profy said: "Magnify is the Web's fastest growing video community"
and Profy goes on to say:
Magnification of Video

I really liked Magnify in my last review and it is pretty obvious that the developers are on the right track with this latest news. Magnify has integrated this new Vlogging into a rather massive network of video content aggregation. The continued addition of valuable user tools will serve Magnify and its users well. Personal creation of video content should be the next great trend across the Web, I have often wondered why it has not transcended text in some sectors, perhaps no one had the tool they needed?
We're excited about the feedback, and even more excited that we've got a slew of requests to join the beta. We're sorting through them now, and we'll have invites out early next week.

Thanks, and -- as always -- feedback of any kind is greatly appreciated.
