Video on the Web Summit - San Jose - June 28th.
There are few things as exhilarating and gut wrenching as pitching Venture Capitalist - in PUBLIC. You put it all out there - and then you get to hang out while they puzzle about the industry, your take, the market, and your presentation. I can be quite daunting. That's why when David Burstein invite us to pitch at the Best New Ideas session at Video on the Web i was a bit wary.
But then, looking at the panel of judges - you can't help but say yes. And when you find out that both Om Malik (GigaOM) and Liz Gannes (New Tee Vee) will be the hosts, it's kind of a no brainer. You just say yes.
So that bring me to San Jose. And a stage full of VC's.
And of course, I get to go FIRST (ugh).
I have to say - it was pretty fun. The crowd was engaged, the tech worked, the crowd and VC's laughted (in the right places) and the
comments were pretty solid. Here's a blog post that recounts the interchange pretty well - (as the guy on stage you hardly remember it). Overall, when the votes were counted - we came out with the closest thing to a majority - (we got 2 votes, and the judges spread their votes among the other presenters). But i have to say - it was a really strong group of proejcts. DotSub is an impressive solid piece of technology and something the world really needs (being about to talk to each other is pretty key i think).
