New Summer Features Announced

Well, there's certainly been a ton of feedback on the ad sharing question, and we've heard you loud and clear.

Many of you are excited about being able to control your own ad inventory, and so we're pleased to release a beta of the Magnify Ad Share Platform.

Just log in to your channel, enter the admin area, and click the "Ads" link in the main navigation bar. What you'll find are the tools you need to integrate with other advertising networks or your own ad server, and even some links to new ad networks you may not be familiar with. Expect us to to ad more ad services in the months ahead. We want you folks to be able to earn money on your pages -- if that's your goal, we want to help.

And we've also got a bunch of new features and updates based on requests from the forums.

1. Email Your Members: A suite of new functions allows channel owners to reach out to their community, individually or through site-wide broadcast announcements.

2. Member Comment Notification: Registered channel members now receive email notifications when the videos they posted are reviewed or commented on. (Of course, members also have the option to disable this notification if they so choose.)

In the world of web mavens - there are the new Captains of Industry (as AO calls them) and then there are the guys who've been around long enough to actually have some institutional history. Tony Perkins has been there from the beginning. From the original "Upside" magazine, to "Red Herring" to now - Always On, he's been ahead of the cure all the way. So an invitation to one of his conferences is something that companies are always hoping for.

Magnify.net was invited to present at the Alumni Center on the Stanford Campus along with a who's who of web visionaries and leaders. And heck, it was a ton of fun. First of all, the energy was infectious. You really do sense that the change that has been building since 1996 is now evolving into a heady mix of mature companies and feisty start ups. It's really a heady elixir.
